Throughout all the physical and emotional suffering, the last thing I wanted was for strangers to feel bad for me just by looking at me. Instead of hiding my bald head under a beanie, I embraced it. I found confidence through my sense of style. As long as I had my new Jordan’s on, everything would be okay. Sneakers and fashion became a way for me to escape the reality of cancer. Now fast forward a few years, I have my own pair of Air Jordan 1s that have never been seen before. This is much more than just a sneaker. To me, this is a symbol of my fight. These sneakers are the literal light at the end of the tunnel.”
