New Balance has reunited with M. Lab atelier — the shoe manufacturer who produced the 2020-released M1300 JPJ “Made in Japan” — to present a new 327 iteration that has been decked out in premium Tochigi leather. The supple tan-colored material is native to Japan and has been in production for over 90 years. Tochigi leather can be found at every turn, from the toe boxes to hand-cut medial “N” logos and padded ankle collars in a chocolatey-brown hue. In addition, white tongue badges are enhanced with gilded “Made in Japan” branding, while clean white midsoles sit atop track-ready gum bottoms to round off the design.
